Adopted unanimously by TST's General Membership on September 6, 2001

1
Any regional transportation plan must include light rail as the essential element of a comprehensive transit system.

2
Public transportation is a core governmental service. Like roads, transit needs an adequate dedicated funding source.

3
The rail, bus, bicycle, pedestrian, and automobile system must be carefully integrated to provide Tucsonans with real transportation choices and optimum freedom of movement.

4
In order to optimize transit’s benefits to the community, neighborhoods, businesses, and other community stakeholders must be involved at every stage of the planning process.

5
Transit issues are not ideological or partisan. A healthy transit system benefits all businesses, neighborhoods, and people of all economic levels and political persuasions.
